INTERNSHIP/TRAINING/DISSERTATION

The National Centre for Coastal Research (NCCR), under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, is a premier institution dedicated to advancing coastal and marine science. It plays a pivotal role in enhancing scientific understanding of India’s coastal and marine environments.

NCCR is mandated to provide state-of-the-art technological and scientific support for the sustainable management of coastal areas. Its research programmes focus on developing and strengthening national capabilities in coastal water quality, coastal processes, shoreline management, coastal hazards and vulnerability, and coastal ecosystems, through multidisciplinary and integrated approaches.

Student Outreach Programme (SOP)

The Student Outreach Programme (SOP) is designed to offer research exposure to highly motivated students currently pursuing their undergraduate or postgraduate studies. The objective of the programme is to familiarize students with the Institute’s research activities and to inspire them to pursue careers in scientific research.

NCCR scientists mentor selected students, providing opportunities to gain hands-on experience in coastal and marine research. Through access to modern laboratories, advanced research facilities, expert guidance, and a collaborative environment, NCCR serves as an ideal hub for students, scholars, and researchers eager to explore the dynamic and diverse world of coastal and marine systems.
